This is what 10 days of mud, oil, gas and formation sand ripping up thru a BOP stack, out of control, will do to the top of a Hydril. That iron is four inches thick and it is now cut out like somebody was carving a piece of cherry pie. The bell nipple bolted to the top of the Hydril was eroded into smithereens. That's the kelly hanging down, cut above the pin, at the DP tool joint, like somebody whacked it with a knife. Mother Nature can be pretty tough sometimes, particularly when She is pissed off.
