I have been to Namibia several times but I will have to punt on this Shell well. I was an outspoken critic of RECON's onshore shale efforts at the head water of the Okavango River in and near the Namibia, Botswana border, and still am. The Delta region, downstream of RECON's drilling, I've been to a lot and it is so beautiful and full of life (in the middle of a desert!) I am convinced God spends his weekends there, awestruck.
Offshore Namibia is getting a lot of attention lately and there have been some promising discoveries, this one of Shell's aside. The geology of this part of West Africa and its possible link (in geological time) to the Eastern part of South America, and the Guyana discoveries, via an old 'land bridge,' is fascinating.
